Prior to forming BMR, Tony Berlin worked for 15 years as a television reporter, anchor and producer, with a resume that includes major networks and its affiliates such as CBS, CNN, NBC & ABC. Tony’s brand of public relations combines his unique understanding of behind-the-scenes television and an unparalleled list of contacts. In television, it’s all about the right timing and right person to pitch to, and Tony’s contacts are second to none. Recent clients have been thrilled with placements on ABC’s Good Morning America, The Today Show, CNBC, Fox News Channel, PBS Newshour, Fox Business Network as well as web and print outlets like the The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Time Magazine, Newsweek and Yahoo Finance.
Before working in public relations, Tony worked as a field producer in New York City with WCBS-TV. Before this he was a reporter/anchor for CBS O&O station WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, WHIO-TV CBS in Dayton, Ohio, WSLS-TV NBC in Roanoke, VA and WJLA-TV ABC in Savannah, GA. Tony started his TV career as a producer with the Washington, DC Bureau of Cox Broadcasting. Jumping into the world of public relations, Tony worked with the NYC office of the Minnesota-based PR firm Padilla Speer Beardsley where he ran several accounts focusing on media relations and national TV outreach.
Tony is a graduate of American University’s Graduate School of Communication where he earned an MA in Journalism. He graduated from Occidental College where he has a BA in Political Science. Tony also graduated from the Poynter Institute reporting workshop in 2002.
